I spent years grappling with these exact questions. Driven by curiosity, I began sampling iconic vintage Hadrware units.

The results blew me away -  I couldn't stop there. Soon, I was crafting entirely new patches from fresh piano samples using the older workstation technoiques -, each one meticulously tailored for maximum impact.

What emerged is something truly special: F9 Origins Old School Pianos 

60 powerful piano patches specifically designed to thrive in contemporary (and classic) club and pop music productions.

But now thanks to Xfer records, we can throw the power of these Multisamples the world's most infamous modern synthesizer - Serum 2 

Not only can we utilise the legendary transient response, dynamic audio engine of Serum 2, but we can also utilise its voicing structure and effects rack to elevate the sounds even further. 

New - Impact 

Ever since we completed F9 KICK!, we have been looking into developing a collection of impact or transient-based multi samples. This release is the first incarnation. 

Oscillator two in Sarum on all patches is pumping out very a carefully produced and edited multi sample that lifts the first few milliseconds of impact from the most famous club piano of all time. With two macro controls, you can now dial in an extra element of bite and punch into any of the patches within this collection, increasing their usefulness and helping your riffs cut through your production like a hot knife through butter

What makes these patches so irresistible? It’s an open production secret: lower bit-rates and vintage sampling technology add unmatched thickness, warmth, and character. Vintage A/D converters, analog input stages, and lower sample counts create gritty, vibrant sounds that modern, pristine sample libraries simply can't replicate.

Many contemporary libraries struggle with stereo compatibility, often failing miserably when collapsed to mono—a critical feature for clubs and radio. Having engineered countless pianos across London, I understand how challenging it is to capture piano sounds suitable for powerful club riffs. Our solution? Crafted mono and carefully stereo-tuned patches that deliver unbeatable punch and clarity.
